Privacy Policy

Tessera is a premium puzzle game. We believe the privacy-respecting path is also the most honest one: we collect the minimum data we need to sync your progress across your devices, and nothing else.

What we collect

Anonymous account identifier. When you open Tessera, the app signs you into an anonymous account managed by Google Firebase. This identifier (a string like abc123...) lets your progress sync between your devices if you reinstall. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number, or any other identifying information unless you choose to enter them elsewhere.
Display name (optional). If you enter a name in Settings, it is stored on your device only. We do not upload or sync it.
Level progress and personal bests. Which levels you have cleared and your best move count per level. Stored against your anonymous account identifier so the same data shows up on your other devices.
Purchase receipt. If you buy the full unlock, the store (Apple App Store, Google Play, or Stripe) sends us a receipt we verify once, then store a flag indicating your purchase is valid. We do not store your payment card number.

What we do not collect

No email, phone, name, or address (unless you write to our support email — see below).
No location data, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or other device permissions.
No advertising identifiers. No tracking.
No third-party analytics that profile users across apps.

Who we share it with

We use Google Firebase (authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Functions) and the respective app store for purchase verification. That's it. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for marketing purposes.

How long we keep it

We keep your anonymous account and progress for as long as you use the game. You can delete all your data at any time via Settings → Reset progress, which clears both the local copy and the cloud copy. For complete account deletion, contact the support email below and we will remove the anonymous account record within 30 days.

Children's privacy

Tessera is rated Everyone / 4+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (US) or under the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction (typically 13–16). Because we do not collect personal information from anyone, this is not a problem.

Changes to this policy

If we meaningfully change what we collect or how we use it, we will publish the new policy here and bump the "Last updated" date at the top. We will also show a one-time notice in the app.
